We do not have a housing supply problem. We have an affordable housing problem.  Investors are buying up our housing stock and we have no way to outbid them for homes.

Let’s learn the facts.
Let’s change the narrative
Let’s expose what is really going on.

We need our legislators to understand that deregulation of our zoning is a tool that adds profits to investors/developers’ portfolios and does not produce affordable housing.   Also, removing parking minimums, adding density and removing setbacks helps investors not families. Countries worldwide realize that the real threat is investors buying up market rate housing and outbidding families. Our legislators need to understand this reality.

Sick Cities by Professor Condon

Catalysts in California Times #2 Featuring Mike Griffiths founder of California Cities for Local Control

Mike Griffiths, Torrance City Council member and founder of California Cities for Local Control doesn’t think state legislators set sound housing policy when they make sweeping mandates for communities they have never stepped foot in and know nothing about.

Griffiths and his all-volunteer team have recruited dozens of cities and hundreds of city council members to sign a Resolution objecting to the state’s top- down, one-size-fits-all mandates.

Griffiths explains the Resolution campaign in an interview with Guy Meyer, host of Catalysts in California Times.
